Fun Easter Baking Recipes For The Family

Easter is a wonderful time of year, full of family time, delicious treats and the promise of warmer weather. Why not make your Easter 2018 even sweeter with some of these tasty raw honey recipes, that are sure to impress the eyes and delight the stomachs of your loved ones?

Honey Meringue Baskets

Meringues are not only divinely tasty but they are great for Easter. And what is even better is that all you need to make them is eggs and honey! Simply whisk together egg whites and raw honey until stiff and glossy, swirl the mixture onto a non-stick baking sheet or parchment paper. Be sure to leave plenty of room between each basket so they don’t stick together. Bake on a low heat for an hour to an hour and half. When it comes to meringues, baking them low and slow is best (if they’re cooked on too high a heat, the tops could go brown). Once cooked, allow them to cool and then comes the fun part. Fill them with your favourite Easter candy treats and marvel over your wonderful creation. Or, for a simple twist on the standard meringue, check out our vanilla honey meringue recipe.

Honey Glazed Hot Cross Buns

Is it even Easter if there aren’t hot cross buns on the table? If you’ve got guests visiting this Easter, welcome them in with the smell of these freshly baked buns. You can either make them from scratch or buy a pre-made mix from your local store and skip to the final step - the honey glaze. Once the hot cross buns are hot out of the over, place them onto a cooling rack. With a baking brush, cover the tops of the buns in our creamed raw honey and allow them to cool. All that’s left then, is to tuck in!

Honey Granola Nests

These cute nests require no baking making them a great treat to make with the kids. Mix together oats, honey, and peanut butter (or a soy butter substitute for those allergic to nuts) and then roll into small balls. Next, grab a mini egg and push it into the mixture to create these bitesize Easter nests.

Before you get started on your Easter baking, grab yourself a jar or two of raw honey from our online shop or in one of many stores across Canada. If you try any of these ideas out this Easter weekend, be sure to share photos with us on Facebook. Happy baking, and from all of us at Three Foragers Bee Co. - Happy Easter!
